The Vernatsch DOC Alte Reben from 2024 from Castelfeder presents itself as a characterful wine with a lively personality. Its color is a bright ruby red with shades of purple that shine in the sun. The scent reveals fruity aromas of cherries and berries, accompanied by a subtle spicy note. This combination gives the wine an enticing and inviting aura. On the palate, it is balanced with a pleasant freshness and fine tannins that support its structure. This makes it a versatile companion for a wide range of dishes or simply for relaxing moments.
The Vernatsch grape variety, also known as Schiava, is the main grape variety of this wine. It is characterized by its easy drinkability and fruity character. The special feature of this wine lies in its production from old vines, which give the wine an additional complexity and underline its personality. The Castelfeder winery, whose reputation for high-quality wines is known, is located in South Tyrol. The climate here is ideal, with sunny days and cool nights, which offers ideal conditions for growing Vernatsch.
