The Gewürztraminer Cancenai DOC 2025 from H. Rottensteiner is an expressive white wine from South Tyrol, distinguished by its intense aromas, elegant spice and remarkable structure. This distinctive Gewürztraminer selection combines the unmistakable character of the grape variety with South Tyrol's rich winemaking heritage. The grapes come predominantly from vineyards near Tramin, where the vines grow on limestone-rich clay soils on southwest-facing slopes. The name Cancenai originates from the old name of Guntschna, the birthplace of Rosl Rottensteiner. Following careful harvesting, the grapes are pressed slowly and gently. Extended contact with the fine lees enhances aromatic development and gives the wine additional depth. It pairs particularly well with spicy Asian dishes and strongly flavoured cheeses. In the glass, it displays an intense yellow colour. Its complex bouquet reveals elegant rose aromas, spicy notes of cloves and delicate hints of honey. On the palate, it impresses with remarkable richness, subtle sweetness, harmonious spice and an exceptionally long finish.
