The 2025 Lagrein DOC from Muri-Gries reveals the exquisite synthesis of tradition and contemporary elegance, typical of terroir-rich South Tyrol. The wine comes from historic Klosteranger, a location that impresses with its optimal south-facing orientation and porphyry-rich soils. This combination creates ideal conditions for the Lagrein grape variety, which has deep roots in this region. Visually, the wine is deep purple, while the aroma develops a seductive complexity of violets, chocolate and ripe plums, paired with spicy notes. In terms of taste, it impresses with its elegant, velvety structure with tightly interwoven tannins and hints of bitter almonds, which makes it an excellent companion for game dishes, roasts and grilled meat.
