The St. Magdalener Classico Gran Marie 2023 from Fliederhof Winery is a distinctive South Tyrolean red wine that combines the traditional Schiava grape variety with a small proportion of Lagrein. Produced from carefully selected grapes, it represents a refined interpretation of classic St. Magdalener, combining elegant fruit aromas with remarkable depth. Its name pays tribute to Maria Ebnicher Ramoser, who took over Fliederhof in 1930 and laid the foundations for the winery's family heritage.

The grapes come from selected vineyards in St. Magdalena near Bolzano, situated between 300 and 340 metres above sea level. Here, vines up to 50 years old grow on stony soils characterised by glacial moraine deposits, river gravel and quartz porphyry. Particularly high-quality, small-berried grapes are carefully selected during the harvest and vinified separately. Following temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine matures in large French oak barrels.

In the glass, it displays a brilliant ruby-red colour. Its complex bouquet combines aromas of red berries and cherries with delicate floral nuances. On the palate, it is fruit-forward, harmonious and elegant, with a smooth structure, pleasant freshness and an expressive, lingering finish.
