The Sauvignon Stella 2022 from Fliederhof Winery is a distinctive South Tyrolean white wine that combines mineral precision with elegant fruit expression and a refined structure. This single-varietal Sauvignon Blanc comes from the Hochleiten vineyard in Oberplanitzing near Kaltern, which has been cultivated by the Ramoser family since 2020.
The approximately 30-year-old vines grow on steep, limestone-rich slopes at elevations between 450 and 480 metres above sea level. Clay-rich glacial moraine deposits, river gravel and quartz porphyry characterise the soils. Following a short period of skin contact, the grapes are gently pressed. Fermentation takes place partly spontaneously in stainless steel tanks and French oak barrels. Extended maturation on the lees gives the wine additional depth and harmony.
In the glass, it displays a brilliant straw-yellow colour. Its elegant bouquet reveals aromas of ripe apples, honeycomb and delicate floral nuances. On the palate, it is precise and lively, with vibrant freshness, subtle tannic structure and harmonious fruit flavours. A distinctive Sauvignon Blanc with mineral character and expressive taste.
