Altos Ibéricos Crianza 2021 by Familia Torres comes from the renowned Spanish wine region of Rioja, more specifically Rioja Alavesa. This characterful red wine is made exclusively from Tempranillo grapes and combines the region’s traditional winemaking heritage with a modern, fruit-forward style. The Torres family, whose winemaking history dates back to 1870, expanded its activities into Rioja Alavesa in 2005. Since then, wines reflecting the distinctive character of this region have been produced in Labastida. The name Altos Ibéricos comes from Alto Otero, the location of the winery. The grapes for the 2021 vintage were harvested by hand. The wine was then aged for twelve months in French and American oak barrels, followed by another twelve months in the bottle. This maturation period adds depth and creates a harmonious structure. In the glass, the wine displays an intense, dark cherry-red colour. The bouquet combines fruity aromas of raspberry jam with spicy notes of green pepper and subtle toasted nuances. On the palate, it is full-bodied and smooth, offering juicy fruit, velvety tannins and beautifully integrated oak notes.
