The Lagrein Kretzer DOC Rosé Nora 2025 from Schmid Oberrautner is a fascinating rosé wine from South Tyrol. Known as “Kretzer”, this rosé is obtained from pressing the Lagrein grape. This wine is characterized by its bright red, which is caused by the rich pigmentation of the Lagrein grape.
The grapes are processed in such a way that the juice takes on this unique color as a result of the natural damage to the berry skin during processing. On the nose, the Lagrein Kretzer has fresh aromas of red berries and a slight floral note. On the palate, it is refreshing and lively with balanced acidity and a touch of minerality. Its light body and harmonious aftertaste make it an ideal companion for warm summer days and light meals.
This rosé wine comes from the classic Lagrein growing zone in Bolzano-Gries, where there are optimal conditions for growing this unique grape variety. The careful handwork and attention to detail in winemaking contribute to the fact that this Lagrein Kretzer is a true gem of South Tyrolean viticulture.
