Falko Rosso
The Falko Rosso Toscano IGT 2023 from Valdifalco is an organically and biodynamically produced red wine from Tuscany. The blend consists of 95% Sangiovese and 5% Merlot. The grapes come from the two Tuscan estates Corte Pavone in Montalcino and Tenuta Valdifalco in the Maremma, bringing together two distinct wine-growing areas within Tuscany. The Mediterranean climate of the Maremma, with abundant sunshine and the influence of the nearby coast, provides favourable conditions for the vineyards.
After spontaneous fermentation, the Sangiovese matures for twelve months in stainless steel tanks, while the Merlot ages for twelve months in used small oak barrels. The blend then receives further ageing in stainless steel. Falko Rosso pairs particularly well with mushroom risotto, pasta with wild boar ragù, grilled beef fillet or Pecorino. In the glass, it shows a ruby-red colour. The nose offers clear aromas of red fruit, complemented by delicate spice and a hint of eucalyptus. On the palate, it is dry and well balanced, with present, well-structured tannins and a pleasantly versatile character.
