The Nals Margreid Gennen Sauvignon DOC 2025 comes from Nals in South Tyrol’s Adige Valley. The vines grow at an altitude of 330 to 400 metres on a substantial alluvial fan composed mainly of limestone gravel, with a smaller proportion of porphyry debris. The east to south-east-facing vineyards experience warm days and cool nights, conditions that give the Sauvignon freshness, precision and clearly defined structure. The grapes are harvested by hand. After clarification, the must ferments for around three weeks at a low temperature in stainless-steel tanks. The young wine then remains on its fine lees for seven months. The result is a lively and precise Sauvignon that pairs particularly well with prawn risotto with Gorgonzola or ricotta tortelloni with sage butter. In the glass, it displays an intense golden-yellow colour with straw-coloured highlights. The bouquet is reminiscent of white-fleshed nectarine, chinotto, elderflower and aromatic herbs. On the palate, the wine is fresh, taut and juicy, with clear tension and a persistent, savoury finish.
