Lagrein Gries DOC 2025 from the Egger-Ramer winery is a red wine that elegantly reflects the depth and character of South Tyrol. This wine is made exclusively from the Lagrein grape variety, which is known for its dark, tannin-rich wines. The Lagrein, typical of the area around Gries in Bolzano, develops an intense, almost impenetrable dark purple color in the glass.

On the nose, Lagrein is characterized by aromas of dark fruits such as blackberries and plums, complemented by earthy undertones and a subtle spiciness reminiscent of black pepper and licorice. On the palate, the wine is strong and full-bodied, with a solid structure and ripe tannins that support a long, complex finish. The fresh acidity of the wine balances its strength and provides lasting elegance.

The Egger-Ramer winery in Bolzano uses its excellent location to benefit from a microclimate that offers warm days and cool nights — ideal for ripening Lagrein grapes. The soils here are rich in gravel and clay, which contributes to the minerality and structure of the wines. Traditional education systems such as pergola or guyot education enable optimal sun exposure and air circulation, essential for the health of the grapes and the quality of the wine.
