Le Anfore di Elena Casadei Cannonau di Sardegna DOC 2024 is an organic red wine made from 100% Cannonau. The vines grow across 1.2 hectares with a south-eastern exposure, on clay-sandy soils of limestone and basaltic origin, and are trained using the Guyot system. The grapes are harvested by hand and carefully selected. Vinification takes place entirely in terracotta amphorae, with skin contact lasting around 30–40 days depending on the vintage. The wine then matures for six months in terracotta amphorae, followed by a further four months in bottle. It pairs particularly well with roast pork, lasagne with ragù and baked vegetables with fondue. In the glass, it shows an intense ruby-red colour. The bouquet combines blueberry, cherry and raspberry with violet, red rose, clove, liquorice, Sichuan pepper, myrtle and black mulberry. On the palate, the fruit is fresh and fragrant, accompanied by spicy and peppery notes. The finish is full, enveloping and persistent, with fresh fruit and liquorice root.
