The Pinot Noir Riserva DOC Fallwind 2023 from St. Michael-Eppan is an elegant South Tyrolean red wine made from a demanding grape variety that requires particular care both in the vineyard and in the cellar. The Fallwind line stands for precise, characterful wines shaped by the terroir around Eppan and the evening downslope winds from the Mendel mountain range. These cool air currents support freshness, aromatic expression and the longevity of the grapes. As a Riserva, the wine benefits from longer ageing and therefore shows greater depth, structure and maturity. For this Blauburgunder, grapes from selected vineyards in the Überetsch area are used, located between 350 and 600 metres above sea level, with south-west to south-east exposure and soils marked by moraine deposits and limestone gravel. Harvest and grape selection are carried out by hand. In the glass, it shows a ruby-red colour. On the nose, it is fruity and refined, with notes of cherry, forest berries, red berries and blackcurrant. On the palate, it is complex, elegant and delicate, with clear fruit, fine structure and harmonious expression. A balanced, refined and deeply elegant South Tyrolean Blauburgunder Riserva.
