The Sylvaner Riserva DOC Alte Reben 2023 from Pacher.Huber comes from Neustift in the Bressanone basin. The vines grow on gravelly moraine soils shaped by mica schist, paragneiss and quartzite. The grapes are harvested by hand and processed with particular care. For maturation, the wine spends several months in large oak casks. The term “Alte Reben” refers to vines that are more than 40 years old. Their lower yields encourage greater concentration in the grapes and contribute to the depth and structure of this Riserva. The extended ageing period further supports the development of complexity and expression. In the glass, it shows a bright straw-yellow colour with subtle greenish reflections. The nose offers peach, pear and honeydew melon. On the palate, it is elegant and harmonious, with balanced freshness, fine structure and pronounced minerality. The finish is dry, mineral-driven and persistent.
