The Pinot Noir Riserva 2023 from Prackfol comes from Völser Aicha near Völs am Schlern, surrounded by the spectacular scenery of the South Tyrolean Dolomites. The vineyards stretch across steep, south to southwest-facing slopes at elevations between 550 and 950 metres. Pronounced temperature differences between day and night, together with soils shaped by moraine deposits and porphyry, create particularly favourable conditions for cultivating Pinot Noir.
The grapes are carefully harvested and selected by hand. Following a short period of skin contact, slow fermentation takes place at controlled temperatures. The wine then matures for twelve months on fine lees in wooden barrels, followed by another eight months of bottle ageing. This extended maturation enhances its Riserva character, adding depth, elegance and a harmonious structure. In the glass, it displays an intense ruby-red colour with subtle garnet reflections. Its complex bouquet reveals aromas of blackberries, sour cherries and fresh raspberries. On the palate, it is smooth, rounded and full-bodied, with balanced structure, juicy fruit and a pleasantly lingering, fruit-driven finish.
