Bardolino Superiore DOCG Santa Lucia
The Bardolino Superiore DOCG Santa Lucia 2024 from Cavalchina comes from Veneto, not far from Lake Garda. The vineyards are situated at an altitude of 120 to 140 metres, with a southern exposure. The calcareous moraine soils, rich in clay and gravel, provide favourable conditions for cultivating the grape varieties Corvina, Rondinella, Marzemino and Barbera. The grapes ripen relatively late and are generally harvested in October. After destemming, fermentation takes place with regular pumping over of the must. The wine then matures for an extended period in medium-sized wooden barrels, developing its complex structure. Additional bottle ageing further refines its character. In the glass, the Santa Lucia displays an intense ruby-red colour. Its bouquet combines fruity cherry aromas with delicate spicy notes. On the palate, it is full-bodied and harmonious, with lively acidity, a pleasing structure and a balanced interplay of fruit and spice.
