Cabernet Alzero IGT
The Cabernet Alzero IGT 2018 from Giuseppe Quintarelli is an exceptional red wine from Veneto, combining the rich winemaking traditions of Valpolicella with the distinctive character of international grape varieties. This prestigious blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Cabernet Franc and 20% Merlot is one of the most exclusive wines produced by this historic family-owned winery.
Its unique character comes from the elaborate appassimento process, a traditional technique also used to produce the renowned Amarone. After careful hand harvesting, the selected grapes are dried for several months, intensifying their aromas and flavours. This is followed by a slow fermentation with indigenous yeasts. Extended ageing in French oak barrels, followed by Slavonian oak, gives the wine remarkable complexity and depth. A distinctive fine wine with impressive ageing potential.
In the glass, the Alzero displays a deep, intense ruby-red colour. Its complex bouquet reveals rich aromas of ripe cherries, dark plums and dried fruits, complemented by delicate notes of vanilla, cinnamon, tobacco and dark chocolate. On the palate, it impresses with exceptional concentration, a velvety texture and finely structured tannins. Vibrant acidity provides elegance and balance despite its remarkable intensity. An extraordinarily long finish completes this outstanding tasting experience.
