The Falkenstein Riesling DOC Vinschgau 2025 comes from the high-altitude vineyards of the family-run Falkenstein winery in Naturns, South Tyrol. On the sunny slopes of the Naturns Sonnenberg, the late-ripening Riesling grape benefits from distinctive growing conditions that shape the individual character of this white wine.
The vines grow on steep, terraced slopes at elevations between 600 and 900 metres above sea level. Sandy soils containing granite, slate, gneiss, quartz and mica contribute to the wine's mineral character. The grapes are harvested by hand and carefully processed. Fermentation takes place in large acacia wood barrels, where the wine matures for ten months on its coarse lees. Further bottle ageing completes the maturation process.
In the glass, the Falkenstein Riesling displays a clear straw-yellow colour. The bouquet reveals fruity aromas of ripe apricot, juicy peach and fresh citrus fruits. On the palate, it impresses with lively, well-structured acidity, pronounced minerality and elegant fruit flavours. The interplay of freshness, structure and delicate mineral notes creates a distinctive and expressive wine.
