The Nebbiolo Langhe DOC 2024 from Paolo Scavino originates from the picturesque vineyards of the Langhe in the rolling hills of Piedmont. Founded in 1921 in Castiglione Falletto, this historic family-run winery is among the region's established producers. The grapes for this red wine come from selected vineyards near La Morra, where the growing conditions highlight the elegant and aromatic qualities of Nebbiolo.
The wine is made exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes. Vinification involves temperature-controlled fermentation at relatively low temperatures to preserve the aromas and encourage gentle extraction. A short period of ageing in neutral oak barrels, followed by further maturation in stainless steel tanks, maintains its freshness and enhances the grape variety's distinctive character.
In the glass, the 2024 vintage displays a clear ruby-red colour with garnet highlights. Its complex bouquet reveals aromas of red cherries, wild berries and wild roses, complemented by delicate herbal nuances. On the palate, the wine is lively and elegant, with juicy fruit, supple tannins and harmonious acidity. A balanced, fresh finish completes its expressive character.
