The Pinot Noir Riserva PN 2022 from Pitzner is an expressive red wine from South Tyrol, combining elegance, finesse and remarkable depth. This single-varietal Pinot Noir comes from the Oberplanitzing vineyard, where the vines grow at approximately 450 metres above sea level on sandy-loamy soils characterised by glacial moraine gravel and limestone deposits.
The vines, aged between 20 and 35 years, provide the foundation for a characterful wine with excellent ageing potential. Following five days of cold maceration, spontaneous fermentation takes place in open fermentation vessels. The wine then undergoes malolactic fermentation before maturing for 14 months in 500-litre tonneaux. The Riserva designation reflects an extended maturation period, contributing additional complexity and harmony to this elegant Pinot Noir.
In the glass, the wine displays a vibrant ruby-red colour with garnet reflections. Its elegant bouquet reveals delicate aromas of wild berries and cherries, complemented by aromatic herbs and subtle smoky notes. On the palate, it impresses with a refined structure, balanced freshness and delicate spicy minerality. A juicy, lingering finish makes this Riserva a truly memorable wine experience.
