The Aurora 2024 from Ansitz Kränzel is a complex white wine from Cermes near Merano, bringing together Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc. The grapes grow in Kränzelhof's vineyards at elevations ranging from 292 to 700 metres. Soils shaped by moraine deposits and granite provide diverse growing conditions for this distinctive South Tyrolean wine. The three grape varieties are harvested and processed together, allowing their individual characteristics to come together from the earliest stages of winemaking. After four days of cold maceration, the grapes undergo a short period of fermentation on the skins. The pressed must then ferments spontaneously in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Afterwards, the wine matures for up to 17 months on the fine lees in used oak barriques, developing additional structure and depth. In the glass, Aurora displays a pale straw-yellow colour with greenish reflections. The bouquet reveals aromas of acacia blossoms, ripe yellow apple, peach, marjoram and citrus fruit. On the palate, it is full-bodied and elegant, with delicate vanilla notes, subtle saline minerality and a long, harmonious finish.
