The Riesling Blauschiefer QbA 2025 by Dr. Loosen is a classic Mosel Riesling that beautifully reflects the mineral-driven style of the region’s world-famous slate-steep vineyards. Riesling finds ideal conditions along the Middle Mosel: a cool climate, steep slopes, and above all the distinctive blue slate soils give the wine its precise freshness, fine fruit, and pronounced minerality. In this region especially, Riesling develops an elegant and vibrant style that is highly regarded worldwide. The designation QbA stands for Qualitätswein bestimmter Anbaugebiete, meaning a quality wine from a specifically defined German wine-growing region. This classification guarantees controlled origin and clearly defined quality standards, highlighting both the regional identity and the typical house style. In the glass, the wine shows a pale yellow colour with subtle greenish reflections. On the nose, aromas of white peach, apple, and citrus unfold, accompanied by fine slate minerality. On the palate, the Riesling is lively, precise, and juicy, with vibrant acidity, saline freshness, and a clean, elegant finish.
