Sauvignon DOC Flora
The Sauvignon Flora DOC 2024 from Girlan Winery is an expressive white wine from South Tyrol, combining aromatic intensity with elegance and mineral freshness. Part of the prestigious Flora collection, it features a distinctive label designed by South Tyrolean artist Paul Flora. The carefully selected Sauvignon grapes come from hillside vineyards in the Überetsch region, situated between 450 and 530 metres above sea level. The vineyards face east and west and are characterised by stony moraine soils containing volcanic porphyry. Following careful hand harvesting, the grapes undergo a short period of skin maceration before being gently pressed. Temperature-controlled fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. The wine then matures for eight months on its fine lees, partly in stainless steel and partly in small wooden barrels. This careful winemaking process gives the wine additional depth and complexity. In the glass, it displays a pale yellow colour. Its intense bouquet reveals fresh citrus aromas complemented by fragrant elderflower notes. On the palate, it impresses with delicate smoky nuances, pronounced minerality and an elegant, harmonious structure.
