The Chardonnay DOC Kreuth 2025 from Cantina Terlano is a pure Chardonnay from the Terlano DOC area in Alto Adige. The vineyards face south to southwest and lie between 260 and 350 metres above sea level. Terlano is characterised by quartz-rich volcanic porphyry soils that are light, nutrient-poor and well drained, contributing to the distinctive character of its wines. The grapes are harvested by hand and carefully selected. After gentle pressing and natural clarification of the must, fermentation takes place slowly at a controlled temperature in large oak casks. The Chardonnay undergoes partial malolactic fermentation, followed by ten months of ageing on the fine lees, with half maturing in stainless-steel tanks and half in large wooden casks. In the glass, it displays a bright straw-yellow colour. The bouquet combines ripe fruit with delicate spicy and mineral nuances and a hint of flint. On the palate, it is compact and smooth, juicy and spicy, with pronounced minerality and a distinctive, persistent finish.
