Gewürztraminer DOC Campaner
The Gewürztraminer Campaner from Kaltern Winery is an expressive white wine from South Tyrol, belonging to the winery's premium selection range. The grapes come from sunny, south-facing hillside vineyards situated at altitudes between 350 and 500 metres. The soils consist of clay-rich marl over porphyry and granite rock, providing particularly favourable conditions for the aromatic Gewürztraminer grape variety. The carefully selected, late-harvested grapes are destemmed and undergo eight hours of cold maceration. After gentle pressing and natural clarification of the must, a slow fermentation takes place under controlled temperatures. The wine is then aged for six months on the fine lees in stainless steel tanks. This process enhances its aromatic complexity and gives it a harmonious structure. In the glass, the Campaner displays a pale golden-yellow colour. Its intense bouquet combines aromas of rose petals and lychee with spicy notes of cloves, cinnamon and a hint of sage. On the palate, it is rich, full-bodied and well-defined, with a complex aromatic profile. Tropical fruit notes characterise the long, expressive finish.
