Pinot Noir Riserva Hemberg Selektion
The Pinot Noir Riserva Hemberg Selektion 2019 by Klaus Lentsch is an elegant and characterful red wine from South Tyrol. The grapes come from the steep vineyards of Hemberghof near Atzwang, in the southern part of the Isarco Valley. Here, sun-drenched terraces and the combination of Alpine and Mediterranean climatic influences create particularly favourable conditions for growing Pinot Noir. Only carefully selected, fully ripe grapes are used for this Riserva. After destemming and cold maceration, the grapes undergo approximately two weeks of fermentation on the skins. The wine then matures for around 20 months in wooden casks and barriques before bottling, followed by additional ageing in the bottle. This meticulous winemaking process gives the wine a harmonious structure and enhances its elegant character. It pairs particularly well with lamb, poultry, game dishes and aged cheeses. In the glass, it displays a light ruby-red colour with garnet reflections. The bouquet reveals aromas of red berries and cherries, accompanied by delicate spicy notes and subtle earthy nuances. On the palate, it is soft and rounded, with a balanced body, noticeable minerality and fine, spicy tannins. A fresh, harmonious finish completes the tasting experience.
