Cabernet Riserva DOC Lafot
The Cabernet Riserva Lafot 2022 from Nals Margreid originates from sun-drenched vineyards around Margreid in South Tyrol's southern wine-growing region. The vines grow at altitudes between 220 and 350 metres, with a south-southeast exposure. Deep soils rich in white limestone gravel and humus, combined with a Mediterranean climate and warm summers, create favourable growing conditions. The warm Ora wind from Lake Garda also influences the development and ripening of the grapes.
The wine is made exclusively from Cabernet Sauvignon. Following careful hand harvesting and destemming, fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks with gentle movement of the fermenting grape skins. The wine then matures for twelve months in barriques, followed by another year of bottle ageing. This extended maturation enhances its distinctive character and classic Riserva style.
In the glass, the Lafot displays an intense ruby-red colour. Its complex bouquet reveals aromas of blackberries, blueberries and cherries, complemented by delicate balsamic and herbal nuances. On the palate, it is powerful and profound, with a dense structure, spicy tannins and a lingering balsamic finish.
