The Pinot Bianco DOC “Sanct Valentin” 2024 from St. Michael-Eppan represents the estate’s flagship “Sanct Valentin” line, which has brought together the winery’s finest white wines since 2001. This range stands for top-level selection, elegance, and mineral depth—wines shaped by carefully chosen vineyards, low yields, and an ambitious winemaking approach, resulting in expressive and age-worthy interpretations of each variety. In the glass, “Sanct Valentin” shows a deep straw-yellow colour with subtle green reflections, a clear sign of freshness and vitality. The Pinot Bianco grape reveals its natural precision here, paired with a refined and well-defined structure. The vinification combines tradition with modern technique: part of the wine matures in barrique tonneaux and small wooden barrels, while another part is aged in large oak casks. After extended maturation, these components are brought together, creating a harmonious balance between fruit and oak. The result is impressive depth and texture, without masking the grape’s characteristic freshness. On the palate, it delivers powerful richness, inner tension, and a lively structure, supported by elegant acidity and mineral nuances. The fruit is concentrated, framed by subtle freshness and a smooth, poised balance. Overall, it is a wine that feels both approachable and complex, with the potential to develop beautifully over the years.
