Riesling DOC Pitzon
The Riesling DOC Pitzon 2024 from Nals Margreid Winery is a distinctive white wine from South Tyrol. The grapes come from the Pitzon vineyard above Nals in the Adige Valley. The Riesling vines grow on east to southeast-facing slopes at altitudes between 500 and 750 metres. Porphyry and limestone-rich soils, combined with warm days and cool nights, create the distinctive growing conditions of this vineyard site.
The grapes are carefully harvested by hand. Following clarification, the must ferments for approximately three weeks at low temperatures in stainless steel tanks. The young wine then matures for a further seven months on its fine lees. This gentle winemaking process preserves the Riesling's freshness and supports the development of its expressive aromatic complexity. In the glass, the Pitzon displays a brilliant golden-yellow colour. Its complex bouquet reveals aromas of persimmon and kiwi, accompanied by delicate notes of freshly cut grass. On the palate, it is compact, fresh and lively, with pleasant spice, pronounced juiciness and a remarkably long finish.
